INNOCENCE LOST, FRIENDS BETRAYED, SNACKS EATEN—A STORY OF SURVIAL IN A WORLD THAT WANTS OTHERWISE
Jerry Bookeeshoo's only desire is to watch TV with a jar of peanut butter. He’s part squirrel, after all, and one of the world’s first smart-pets. But after his cruel master goes gun-crazy, Jerry is forced to flee his comforts. He meets shut-ins and doomsday preppers. He does hallucinogens among wild animals. He finds an entire city of smart-squirrels and is soon chosen by shadowy figures to lead his species into war with humanity.
Futuristic weapons, palace intrigue, and betrayal build until Jerry must choose between what’s expected and what’s right. Will he commit to all-out war? Or does he decide to do good, saving intelligent life on earth? Most importantly: Does he ever get back to his TV and peanut butter?

A NUTS! MAGAZINE BEST BOOK OF 2023
A PARANOPHILIA BEST BOOK OF 2023
SELECTED PRAISE:
"I have become a picky, spoiled, and jaded reader. I finish books every month that leave me cold. This novel did the opposite. It was fresh, bold, and visionary."
-Gregory R. Marshall, author of Torn Veil, Fables of Failure, and The Rainer series
"Sawan uses his inimitable style to channel a darkness that ranges from unnerving where it departs from reality to nightmarish where it dovetails. This is a book that will draw you in with its thinly veiled pop culture references and keep it with its surreal, funhouse mirror depiction of a world that is all too real."
-Samuel Munk, Artificial Intelligence PhD and author of the "AI Behind" series
"One thing that disturbed me was the weird sex stuff, especially the explicit sex scene between the bookeeshoos."
-Pul Parmar, Fiverr Beta Reviewer @pulparmar
"I have not read a better distillation of the world's impeding doom than Bookeemessiah. This ain't your grandma's near-future dystopia. The stakes are starker, innocence wrecked harder, and the moral crystal-clear... Or is it?"
-Jackson Stromayer, Big Fin 'Zines and Things
"Jerry Bookeeshoo is adorable. I rooted for him way longer than I should have."
-Jess Flanders, GhostSisterTV
